Season 8 and Revolution News
Of course, by now everyone knows Supernatural was renewed for an 8th season. I know a lot of people won't be happy about that. They don't want the show they used to love dragged out forever, to die a whimpering death.
No one will be surprised that I'm thrilled! I'm in the ever-shrinking minority who wants Sam and Dean as long as they'll give them to me.
Both camps will be excited, I hope, to hear that the new Eric Kripke show produced by JJ Abrams, Revolution, has gotten a series order by NBC. (As reported by Entertainment Weekly's Inside TV.)
So what do you think? Intrigued by this show about survivors of a no-power apocalypse? Or meh on the concept? Tell us where you stand!

I'm very happy it's back for another season. I really want season 8 to redeem the show from this season. Don't get me wrong, there have been some truly great moments, but when the show goes out I want it to do so on a high point and that is not this season.
I think the change in showrunner gives us that potential, Terry.
I'm not sure if a show can go out on a high point once it goes past 5 years. Look at LOST, for example. Has there ever been a show that didn't strain its creativity in some way, at some point?
That said, I would definitely like more good than bad, and a satisfying ending on the writers' and actors' own terms, not just a failure to renew or something. :)
Prepare for bluntness...
I'm less intrigued about a 'powerpoclypse having lived through a preview last fall :) Americans (at least the ones in non-rural CT) are the biggest bunch of whiney babies. I'm ashamed and embarrassed at what actually happened. Honestly, I can't think a REALISTIC version of this could be interesting. Unless you consider a bunch of people formulating nasty letters to CL&P for eleven days riveting. If James Cameron couldn't barf up a really successful telling of this story, I don't think anyone can. (Though I'd be THRILLED if they could!) I loooove me some end of the world horror.
In other, more thrilling news SEASON 8! New show runner and ...the possibilities are endless. I feel so very hopeful.
I'll be honest, kp, the concept itself doesn't draw me too hard. But it reminds me of Dark Angel, and for some reason of Falling Skies. Both Kripke and Abrams have succeeded (where they've succeeded) on the strength of their fictional relationships. So it's all because of them I'm willing to check out the show!
(Lots of things are far more fun to watch on TV than live through. I'm sorry you were caught in that nightmare!)
well i'm almost always reluctant on starting new series. Don't know why.
But i think i'gg give revolution a whirl....
And on SPN news.. I know there issues with series that need to be dealt with, But on the whole cant say no to another season.. the 'idjits' will be back!
Sam, I can understand reluctance to invest in a new series. For me, it's always that the ones I end up really liking fail after I get hooked. LOL
